A follow-up to 1993′s “Dazed and Confused” is finally in the works. Director Richard Linklater has confirmed that he is working on a sequel to the coming-of-age flick.
Linklater made the announcement during a Reddit chat on Thursday (May 23).
“Hoping to make it this fall, actually,” he replied when asked about a “Dazed and Confused” sequel. “A college comedy. I feel like mixing it up with a big ensemble.”
The original film had a breakout ensemble cast that featured Matthew McConaughey, Ben Affleck and Parker Posey. In was set on the last day of school in 1976 in a Texas suburb. The first moments of summer are spent with the seniors hazing incoming freshmen. As the night wears on, more shenanigans and partying ensues.
