Dave Grohl can add “Director” to his long list of accomplishments. His documentary film, “Sound City,” will premiere at the Sundance Film Festival.

Sound City was a recording studio in Van Nuys, California, where many legendary artists recorded classic albums. Some of the artists include Fleetwood Mac, Tom Petty, Elton John, Neil Young, and even Nirvana, who recorded their legendary 1991 album “Nevermind” there.

Grohl said, “As a first-time director, I am humbled to be able to share my passion for songwriting and storytelling with this incredible cast of legendary musicians, as seen through the extraordinary story of America‚Äôs greatest unsung recording studio, Sound City. Being included in this group of artists is a true honor, and the Sundance Film Festival is the perfect place to premiere a film about craft, integrity, and passion for art. I am over the moon!”

The Sundance Film Festival takes place January 17-27 in Park City, Utah. You can watch a trailer for the “Sound City” documentary below.
