There’s already Oscar buzz circulating over Daniel Day-Lewis‘s brilliant portrayal of President Abraham Lincoln in Steven Spielberg‘s film, “Lincoln.” Now, Day-Lewis will receive The Montecito Award at The Santa Barbara International Film Festival.
Executive Director of SBIFF Roger Durling explained, “Daniel Day-Lewis continues to inspire the industry and the public by his approach to tackling the most complex of characters and delivering brilliant performances time after time. He is indicative of what the Montecito Award represents and we are thrilled to be presenting this to him this year.”
The Montecito Award was created in 2005 to recognize performers with career longevity who continually give standout performances. The very first recipient of the award was Annette Bening.
The ceremony takes place on January 26, 2013. Tickets are available through The Santa Barbara International Film Festival.
