Nixon will play Kade Prurnell, Jack Crawford’s (Laurence Fishburne) boss, who will join the investigation of everything that happened in the show’s first season, and will be looking into what Jack’s role was in the whole thing.
“It’s about Will and Hannibal finding a new dynamic between them and those characters exploring the loss of the friendship,” creator of the show Bryan Fuller said of season two. “If the first season was the bromance, the second season is the nasty breakup!”
Hugh Dancy added: “There’s a connection of some sort and Hannibal is certainly not stopping being interested in Will. I think he’s still just as interested as he was and clearly Will now has a powerful interest in Hannibal, albeit of a different type.”
“Hannibal” will return to NBC for its second season during the midseason.
