Forbes announced its “World’s Most Powerful Women” yesterday, ending twelve months of argument and speculation around the proverbial water cooler.
Would it be Oprah then Gaga, or Michelle Obama over Hillary? Well, the list is out.
While Hillzy came in at a more than respectable No.2 to Germany’s Chancellor Angela Merkel, we have to travel to No.8 to find our first “celeb” in first lady Michelle Obama. Lady Gaga is the first legit entertainer, coming in at No.11 and trumping No.14, Oprah Winfrey, the end of whose talk show and flailing attempts at starting her OWN network have surely taken a toll on her untouchable status of year’s past.
While the list is heavily populated with CEO’s and heads of state, other entertainers who made the list include Beyoncé Knowles (18), “actress, humanitarian” Angelina Jolie (29), Sarah Palin (34), Ellen DeGeneres (55) and supermodel Gisele Bündchen (60).
Any of your “must-haves” not on the list? Tina Fey, Kristen Wiig, Danica Patrick, Katie Couric… who’s missing?
