Whitney Houston‘s mom Cissy has broken her media silence and opens up about her daughter’s passing in a TV interview with My9 in New Jersey. The interview took place at the same Newark church in which Whitney was laid to rest, the New Hope Baptist Church.
“I have my moments,” admitted Cissy when asked about her emotional state. “I’m not there yet. I don’t think I’m more courageous than anyone else. I am a true believer in God: if I could bring her back I would, but that’s not possible.”
Many parents feel a sense of guilt when their children suffer from addictions, but Houston doesn’t count herself among those ranks. “I know I did the best I could. I don’t blame myself. I know I did the best I could for everything,” she said. “My children are my whole life. She was very special to me… she was my only daughter, and a good one. Looked out for her family.”
Cissy Houston’s interview will air at 10 p.m. on Monday on My9.
