Chris Pine will be receiving a major award at the upcoming CinemaCon 2013. The National Association of Theatre Owners will be awarding Pine with the Male Star of the Year Award.
“With this summer’s ‘Star Trek Into Darkness’… and then at year’s end with the release of ‘Jack Ryan,’ without a doubt 2013 is going to be Chris Pine’s year,” said CinemaCon managing director Mitch Neuhauser. “Chris Pine has emerged as one of Hollywood’s hottest and most accomplished young actors, and CinemaCon is thrilled to honour him as its 2013 Male Star of the Year.”
The upcoming “Star Trek Into Darkness” also stars Zoe Saldana and Zachary Quinto and will be released on May 17. “Jack Ryan,” based on a book series by Tom Clancy, will hit theatres on Christmas Day.
This year’s CinemaCon is taking place in Las Vegas from April 15 to 18. Pine will receive the Male Star of the Year award at the closing night gala.
