Song of the Week: Bat for Lashes “Laura”
This song is simply too good not to pass along. A unanimous pick for Song of the Week – “Laura” by Bat For Lashes will serve just to whet your appetite for the Bat for Lashes album that a lot of people are already talking about for their 2012 “Best of” lists! Bat for Lashes is the work of British singer/songwriter, multi-instrumentalist and visual artist Natasha Khan.
‘Laura’ is the first single from The Haunted Man album which will be out in the US in October. Take a listen:
Album of the Week: “Undersea” by The Antlers
I like music that resonates like a beautiful smile. Brooklyn’s own The Antlers had a wonderful 2011, popping up all over place. In 2012, The Antlers have put together an incredibly rich, four song ep, which is this week’s Album Of The Week. A stellar combo of indie-ambient sounds, I highly suggest “like”ing their Facebook Page just so that you can hear the whole thing over and over again!
In the meantime, here is a stream for “Drift Drive:”
Music Video of the Week: Robert Francis(Jay Leno Performance) of, “Perfectly Yours”
Some of us have seen the talent of Robert Francis grow before our very eyes. Touching and seemingly inspired, he was recently featured on “The Tonight Show” with Jay Leno. His music, a stirring combination of folk rock and poetry, speaks volumes with every listen, and is visible even in this non-music-video video.
Francis earned his stripes with the likes of Ry Cooder and John Frusciante (Red Hot Chili Peppers), and with their guidance, Francis has developed into a gifted singer/songwriter who is finally getting the acclaim he deserves. Francis’s latest is an absolute must for any music collection.
Let us know what you think of this week’s picks.
