Bryan Cranston will soon make his Broadway debut in “All the Way.” He will be playing Lyndon B. Johnson beginning this winter.
The production is a three-hour historical drama that follows LBJ through his first year in office, after the assassination of John F. Kennedy. The play goes on to follow his own election the following year, when he beat Barry Goldwater for the presidential seat.
Cranston is best known for his role as Walter White on “Breaking Bad,” which just finished its five-season run on AMC. It seems the actor has been in high demand since the end of the series, since he has already booked roles in “Cold Comes the Night,” “Godzilla” and “Kung Fu Panda 3.”
The play is set to open during the 2013-14 season, however a start date, theater and other cast members have yet to be announced.
