Bradley Cooper will be attending the the 24th annual Palm Springs International Film Festival Awards next month, where he will be honored with the Desert Palm Achievement Award for acting.
Festival chairman Harold Matzner said in a statement, “Bradley Cooper is just one of the many silver linings in David O. Russell’s enjoyable film ‘Silver Linings Playbook.’” He continued, “Cooper’s portrayal of Pat Solitano is a career-best performance that has created Oscar buzz and has audiences rooting for him despite the challenges he faces throughout the film.”
Cooper has received strong accolades for his portrayal of a man diagnosed with bipolar disorder and is considered a strong contender for the upcoming Academy Award nominations. While it’s not typical for the lead in a romantic comedy to receive so much love during awards season, “Silver Linings Playbook” isn’t your typical romantic comedy either. The film co-stars Jennifer Lawrence as a young widow who is struggling to put back together the pieces of her life.
The Palm Springs International Film Festival Awards will be held on Jan. 5 at the Palm Springs Convention Center.
