Brad Pitt vs. The World – Celebs.com’s WHO WON THE WEEK

Posted by & filed under SFW, The Daily Dose (Entertainment News).

We wish we could tell you that Brad Pitt’s latest, “Killing Them Softly,” was a big hit at the box office this weekend, but sadly, like many films that open the weekend after Thanksgiving, it was a big fat turkey. Earning only $6.8 million, Pitt’s seedy underworld slow burn landed in seventh place as “Breaking Dawn 2″ stayed at #1 for the third straight week with a $17.2 million weekend (over $250 million domestic to date).

So the holdovers may have won the week, but it wasn’t from Pitt’s lack of trying. He certainly was out and about hocking the film. Let’s see some of his highlights from the week. (See interviews of Pitt and his other “Killing Them Softly” castmates from its premiere.)

The Chanel No. 5 Video

We don’t have to remind you that Pitt did a campaign for Chanel No. 5. Shot in black and white with Pitt spitting out strange sentences that don’t seem to be related to anything, Pitt opened himself up to tons of parody. Though he admits that he hasn’t seen any of them (and there are a bunch), we on the other hand have enjoyed them. There’s “Saturday Night Live”’s spoof, which basically opened the floodgates. And this week Conan O’Brien got in the act as he played a trailer for “Killing Them Softly” that had a lot of similarities to the Chanel ad.

On Turning 50!

It’s still over a year away, but when the one time sexiest man alive hits a milestone like this people are gonna ask. Talking to “Good Morning America” this week he says preparing for the big 5-0 he’s “making sure I spend my time wisely and doing the things that are important to me and spending the time I need to with my family.” Who knows. Maybe hitting 50 will finally motivate him and his wife Angelina Jolie to finally tie the knot.

“World War Z”

Though Pitt likes to sometimes take on films that are a bit more subdued, he still has some action packed titles in the works. The biggest is his next, “World War Z.” A film that seems to have been in production FOREVER, it’s finally coming out in the summer. And as you’ve probably seen from the trailer, this isn’t going to be any slow character study. (This week we also saw Pitt in some bloody pics from the set.) As he told “Entertainment Tonight,” “I kick some zombie ass.”

We think a few more people are going to come out to theaters for that one.
