Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie are launching their own organic wine brand. The first of the Jolie-Pitt wines will be called Miravel, named after their vineyard in France, and is said to be a 2012 vintage pink rose.
“They [Jolie-Pitt's] are very demanding in seeking excellence in the quality and character of their wine,” said Marc Perrin, a winegrower who is helping with the new venture. He met with Jolie and Pitt last summer, when they began working on putting together the design and distribution aspects of the new wine company.
Perrin adds that both Jolie and Pitt have been very involved in the creation of their wines.
“They were present at the blending sessions this year, and are relooking at everything from the installations in the winery – where we have already switched to stainless steel tanks – to reworking the labels across the range of wines,” he said.
Miravel will be released in American on March 15. Each bottle will read “Bottled by Jolie-Pitt and Perrin.” The couple will also be launching both white and red wine later this year.
