Bill Hader Announces Departure from ‘Saturday Night Live’
Funny man Bill Hader announced that he will be leaving “Saturday Night Live” after eight seasons.
“It was a hard decision, but it has to happen at some point,” Hader told The New York Times. “It got to a point where I said, ‘Maybe it’s just time to go.’”
Hader’s announcement comes just days after it was revealed that Seth Meyers will be leaving to take over “Late Night” in 2014. Fred Armisen and Jason Sudeikis are also considering leaving the show.
“I’ve said what I wanted to say to both,” Lorne Michaels, “SNL” executive producer, said, referring to Armisen and Sudeikis. “You never keep anybody there who doesn’t want to be there, and there is a right time to leave, but it’s more about where they are in their lives.”
Hader will be ending his “SNL” run on the show’s season finale on May 18. Ben Affleck will host and Kanye West will perform.
