Beyonce premiered her self-directed HBO documentary, “Life is But a Dream,” last night in New York City. The singer took to the red carpet wearing a dazzling Elie Saab Couture gown that was semi-sheer and was covered in intricate beading.
“This movie has really been my therapy,” Beyonce said of the film. “I’ve healed from so many wounds… and hopefully I can inspire other people.”
“Life is But a Dream” addresses many aspects of Beyonce’s life that, until now, she had left for fans to speculate. The singer reveals she had a miscarriage before getting pregnant with her daughter Blue Ivy, and she opens up about firing her father Matthew Knowles as her manager.
“When you’re trying to have an everyday conversation with your family you have to talk about scheduling and you have to talk about your album and performing and touring,” she says. “It’s just too stressful and it really affects your relationship.”
Beyonce was joined at the premiere of “Life is But a Dream” by her husband Jay-Z, her mom Tina Knowles and her sister Solange. Other celebs at the premiere include Chris Rock, Angela Bassett and Oprah Winfrey. Winfrey interviewed Beyonce earlier that day for her series, “Next Chapter.”
“Life is But a Dream” will premiere on Saturday on HBO.
