Beyonce will be headlining an upcoming charity concert in London. The global concert, called The Sound Of Change Live, is part of Gucci’s Chime for Change campaign, which is promoting female empowerment. Beyonce is actually one of the co-founders of the campaign, along with Selma Hayek and Gucci executive, Frida Giannini.
“Our goal is to call for change for girls and women in the loudest voice possible,” said Beyonce, who is also serving as artistic director for the concert. “I am excited for us to come together on June 1 to bring the issues of education, health and justice for girls and women to the world stage.”
Other performers of The Sound Of Change Live global concert include Ellie Goulding, Florence and the Machine, Iggy Azalea, John Legend, Rita Ora, Laura Pausini and Timbaland. The event will also include short films which highlight women’s issues around the world.
The concert will be taking place in London at Twickenham Stadium on June 1. Tickets go on sale on March 27.
