After 8 years of investigations regarding steroids and baseball giant Barry Bonds, U.S. District Judge Susan Illston has imposed the sentence of 30 days for misleading the grand jury. The Judge then immediately delayed the sentence pending an appeal by Bonds’ people on account of obstruction of justice.
So, what’s the deal? Well, Barry will either serve 30 days at his house in Beverly Hills, or he’ll serve less… plus he’ll have two years of probation, 250 hours of community service to get through, and have to pay a fine, of $4,000.
As to whether he’ll have to serve any of that home detention in his 15,000 square foot, six-bedroom house, well, the court should determine the appeal… within another 18 months.
