Avril Lavigne has launched a crowdfunding campaign to benefit the Avril Lavigne Foundation. The foundation helps children with disabilities and the funds raised from the campaign will go to several projects, one of which includes music therapy services at Mattel’s Children’s Hospital UCLA.
The campaign was launched with Prizeo and will run until October 29, 2013. Anyone who donates a minimum of $3 will be up for a prize which includes attending Lavigne’s album release party in November and accompanying her on the red carpet of the NYC event.
“The reason I’m doing this is to enable the foundation to continue its incredible work supporting kids with serious illness or disabilities,” Lavigne said.
Prizeo’s co-founder Leo Seigal added: “Partnering with Avril to raise both funds and awareness is a great opportunity to help kids and to show the true power of a highly engaged fan community. … This ‘social multiplier effect’ will likely make for a truly historical fundraising experience.”
