Aretha Franklin has had a legendary, iconic career, and the Queen of Soul will soon take her rightful spot in the Gospel Music Hall of Fame. She’ll be inducted on Aug. 14 alongside Ricky Skaggs, The Hoppers, Dallas Holm and Love Song. Dolly Parton and Elvis Presley are fellow inductees.
Franklin’s ties to gospel began with her father, a Baptist minister, and became most prominent with her 1972 album Amazing Grace — one of the all-time best-selling gospel albums, according to Yahoo.
The Gospel Music Hall of Fame is located in Hendersonville, Tenn., and was established in 1971. Congratulations, Aretha!
