“American Idol” winner Kris Allen was involved in a car accident Tuesday and later that evening, he let the news escape that he’s going to be a father. Now that’s a unique way of making the announcement.
The singer’s mother tweeted, “From Kris: he’s in a lot of pain, arm broke, may not play guitar for a while. Prayers welcome please! #headoncollision. Kristopher and Katy [Allen, Kris' wife] are both pretty beat up but ALIVE! Thank you Jesus! They are setting his arm now and will have surgery tomorrow.”
Allen later tweeted himself. “Thank you @ford for equipping me with a car that kept my whole family @katyallen @ZorroPup and the little one we have on the way safe.”
He then clarified, “Yes I got in a really bad wreck tonight and yes I’m having a lil baby. #gonnabeadaddy.” He continued, “Don’t worry everyone I may have broken my wrist but the #OutAliveTour is still on.”
It sounds like 2013 is off to an interesting start for the Kris Allen family. Here’s hoping for a speedy recovery and a healthy pregnancy.
