Alicia Silverstone has a blog called The Kind Life in which she writes about her Earth-friendly lifestyle; in a recent post, the actress shared the birdlike strategy she uses to feed her baby Bear Blu.
Silverstone chews up the food and then passes it to her son. Here’s how she described breakfast on March 23:
I just had a delicious breakfast of miso soup, collards and radish steamed and drizzled with flax oil, cast iron mochi with nori wrapped outside, and some grated daikon. Yum! I fed Bear the mochi and a tiny bit of veggies from the soup…from my mouth to his. It’s his favorite…and mine. He literally crawls across the room to attack my mouth if I’m eating.
Silverstone even embedded a video of the feeding process from a couple of months ago, “when he was a bit wobbly.” That clip appears below. Commenters on The Kind Life expressed mixed reactions to her birdlike parenting practice. Critics called it “weird” and warned that she was passing her germs and bacteria on to her son, while supporters pointed out that she was helping her child grow natural immunities and that other cultures use the same method to introduce babies to solids.
