Alexis Bledel may soon be making her return to television. The actress better known as Rory Gilmore of the “Gilmore Girls” has signed on to costar in a Fox pilot that is being described as a relationship comedy titled “Friends & Family.”
The series is based on BBC comedy “Gavin & Stacey” that follows a couple as they try to navigate their blossoming long distance relationship. However, they are constantly being interrupted by their friends and family. Jason Ritter will be starring across Bledel in the pilot.
Bledel was last seen on television during a 3-episode stint with “Mad Men.” She played the wife of an insurance salesman who has an affair with ad exec Pete Campbell (played by Vincent Kartheiser). Bledel’s most memorable television role was starring on “Gilmore Girls” alongside Lauren Graham for seven seasons, about a mom and daughter duo who are fast-talking pop culture fanatics living in a small town.
BBC Worldwide and Sony are producing the “Friends and Family” pilot.
