“The Hunger Games” hasn’t been released in theaters yet, but ABC Family has already jumped on the mania surrounding the movie by picking up the TV rights. ABC Family will be able to air THG 30 months after its release — sometime in the second half of 2014.
ABC Family also nabbed the rights to air both parts of “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows,” giving its younger audience plenty of reasons to tune in over the next few years.
“The Hunger Games” is set to debut in theaters on March 23. It’s already sold more first-day advance tickets on Fandango.com than “The Twilight Saga: Eclipse,” setting a new record in the site’s 12-year history. Don’t miss our red/black carpet quickie interviews with the movie’s stars here.
