This Thursday, “30 Rock” will air a live episode for the second time in the show’s history. To accommodate viewers across the country, the cast will perform the episode live for viewers in the Eastern and Central time zones at 8:30 p.m. and then restage it in time for the West Coast time slot.
The episode’s theme similarly riffs on the energy of live production versus shooting on film. Tina Fey and Alec Baldwin‘s characters initially resist Kabletown’s desire to move away from live production, but then discover that doing so would actually simplify their lives.
Do you think “30 Rock” can boost its ratings with a live show?
