Cory Monteith will be honored during a tribute at the upcoming 2013 Primetime Emmy Awards. The award show’s executive producer, Ken Ehrlich, says they will be paying homage to the late “Glee” actor, but is still unsure of how they will be going about the tribute.
“If Cory had passed away in March, we’d have had four months to look at this with a little more perspective,” Ehrlich said. “The reason we’re getting all of this discussion now is because he passed away two weeks ago. But we are going to deal with it.”
Monteith was found dead in a Vancouver hotel room on July 13, at the age of 31. A mix of alcohol and heroin was found in his system.
Many “Glee” cast members have spoken out after Monteith’s death to remember their friend and colleague. Earlier this week, Lea Michele finally broke her silence on Twitter.
“Thank you all for helping me through this time with your enormous love & support,” she wrote. “Cory will forever be in my heart.”
The 2013 Primetime Emmys will be taking place on September 22.
