The annual special highlights Walters’ picks for famous figures with the most influence and impact over the course of the year. We’ve come quite a way in a year: picks on the 2010 list included the “Jersey Shore” cast, Tiger Woods, Justin Bieber and Sarah Palin.
ABC has remained mum on the person who holds the No. 1 spot on Barbara Walters’ list. Who do you think it will be?
Daniel Craig is on the cover of the GQ UK January 2012 issue, but entertainment websites are going crazy about a mini rant within the accompanying interview in which the “Casino Royale” actor called the Kardashian family “f*cking idiots.”
“I think there’s a lot to be said for keeping your own counsel,” he said. “You can’t buy it back. You can’t buy your privacy back. ‘Ooh, I want to be alone.’ F*ck you. We’ve been in your living room. We were at your birth. You filmed it for us and showed us the placenta, and now you want some privacy?”
Daniel Craig didn’t stop there. “It’s a career; I’m not being cynical. And why wouldn’t you? Look at the Kardashians, they’re worth millions. Millions! I don’t think they were that badly off to begin with, but now look at them. You see that and you think, ‘What, you mean all I have to do is behave like a f*cking idiot on television and then you’ll pay me millions?’”
Kirstie Alley hopes to help her fans get fitter in 2012 by following her example and dancing. “I’m trying to start a grassroots movement and I hope you all join in,” she said. “I’m doing 100 days of dance, starting on Jan. 1. What you do is you join in, and whether you dance for 30 minutes or an hour, you dance for 100 consecutive days.”
The “Dancing With the Stars” contestant famously said that she’s lost 100 pounds since March 2011, largely through dance, and she vows to use innovative methods to keep herself accountable.
“I’ll video myself dancing, like, for five or 10 minutes and I’ll hold a newspaper up so that you can see the date, so you know I’m not cheating,” she added. “I want everybody in the world to join in on this, it’s a fun way to stay fit.”
Do you plan to dance with Kirstie Alley in 2012? Do you think her grassroots fitness initiative will pan out?
Kate Hudson wore a stunning one-shouldered cutout gown by Stella McCartney at the 2011 British Fashion Awards, debuting her post-baby body in style. Can you believe that Hudson gave birth to Bingham, her second son, just four months ago?
Hudson and McCartney go way back: in 2001, the designer dressed a 21-year-old Hudson for the Academy Awards. Unfortunately, that year the actress ended up on nearly every Worst Dressed list. She told Vogue UK of the aftermath, “So I called Stella and we just laughed our arses off and she said to me, ‘Look babe, it was the hair, wasn’t it?’ To this day, that now-vintage dress hangs in my wardrobe, but I swear one day I’ll wear it again. But Stella, I promise I’ll do the hair differently.”
